I can remember when Bluetooth headphones were looked down upon for bad sound. Those days are over. The NuForce BT-860 ($79, www.nuforce.com) is a nice mix of good sound, good looks and a good price. Very modern styling and nice sound mean the BT-860s can certainly stand alongside more expensive competitors. The BT-860s are very comfortable, charge from a USB port and play for eight hours.
They also have a microphone and control buttons to use with your phone.
Pros: Inexpensive, good sound, comfortable.
Cons: Proprietary charge cable.
Bottom line: This wireless set is the complete package at a price that can¡¦t be beat.

I tested out the bass on a number of different songs, including the very bass heavy Smile for Me Now by 2Pac…If you have ever listened to Smile for Me Now, you will note that the bass is presented right from the get go, and I found the bass right from the start up was huge…the bass was very fast and packed a very powerful punch on specific songs depending on the different levels of use…At lower volume levels, the bass made out perfectly and was powerful enough when it needed to be, and decreased a bit when it needed to… I tested these out on both an iPhone 4 and a iMac…"

...I found the next-gen NuForces did an unexpectedly great job of retrieving most of the delicate low-level information this disc has on offer. The acid test, really, is to see if the headphones convey at least something of the sense of real human hands delicately sweeping over the strings and fingerboard of a real instrument. This, I’m happy to report, is a test the NuForces passed with flying colors. Could I have heard even more finely-resolved detail through expensive top-tier ‘phones? Yes. But for under $100, I felt the NuForces sounded much more refined and accomplished than they had any right to for the money...
No other in-ear headphones or headsets we know of can provide more (or even as much) performance for so little, meaning these models are bargains, pure and simple.

I've been using the ne-700x for a week trying to evaluate it compared to my many other IEMs. ...I have to admit they are quite enjoyable, even though I am used to using > $400 IEMs of different brands. ...It really surprised me how enjoyable this headphone was at a much lower price than the headphones I'm used to.

NuForce has built a very compelling pair of IEMs in the NE-700X. These IEMs are built to last, are very comfortable over longer listening sessions and feature sound quality that competes far better than its $65 price tag would suggest. Without a doubt, these are the most enjoyable and technically proficient IEMs I’ve heard in their price range and are an exceptional value for their $65 asking price.

The NE-700X offer a warm and powerful sound with a nice analogue feel. The bass is strong yet very well controlled, the smooth mids have good detail, the highs are very nice and clear without sounding harsh or sibilant. The soundstage is open and nicely layered... Verdict: excellent sound, excellent build quality and exclusive looks at a really affordable price. Highly recommended.
