Audiophile Guide: System Building - An Amplifier Centric View
At NuForce, we have chosen a fresh approach to system building. Some audiophiles think that one should begin by selecting the loudspeakers first, and then proceed to the task of finding a suitable amplifier to drive them.
Our view is that one should begin building a system by choosing the highest-performance source component and amplification that he or she can afford. We feel this way for two reasons. One: If you lose resolution at the source or in the amplification chain, then no loudspeaker, no matter how close to state-of-the-art it may be, will be able to recover the lost musical information. Two: Speakers are typically the highest distortion and least linear components in the audio system. Auditioning speakers with a less than competent chain of electronics puts the loudspeaker at an even greater disadvantage on top of its inherent shortfalls. If you begin with high performance electronics, you will hear your speakers at their best and when you decide to upgrade, the improvements will be readily apparent and more appreciable.
At NuForce we build our audio products to very high standards. We bench test and run comprehensive diagnostics on every component we sell in order to ensure that our products deliver extremely high performance, with minute levels of distortion, ruler-flat frequency response, high transient speed and very low phase shift. In other words, we strive to preserve the integrity of the original music signal, so that you will hear the music in the way that the recording engineer intended.
Moreover, NuForce amplifiers have the ability to drive complex speaker loads and speakers that have impedance dips or inherently low impedance. This enables NuForce amplifiers to provide maximum sonic performance to the vast majority of loudspeakers in today's marketplace, regardless of style, size, or design. From conventional dynamic speakers to ribbon hybrids, electrostatics, and horns, NuForce amplifiers will deliver superior sound quality with articulation and ease.
So, as with most things in life, it is best to start at the beginning (with a high quality source and amplifier) rather than beginning at the end - with the loudspeaker.
